Just a short note to indicate that the whole of the 3.8.x series (up to 3.8.10) as well as 3.9 up to RC7 reliably panics on bluetooth DUN disconnection (at least in some setups).

Hi Thorsten,

You are actually right! I used to do this a week before the final release before I stopped with these posts almost a year., this time wasn’t able to do that in time. I’ll keep this in mind and you should see a new post for 3.9 in less than weeks just after Linus closes the merge window. Thanks.

Many thx for this post. What IMHO would even more better if you could do posts like something like this a week after the merge window closed. Then I in articles like http://h-online.com/-1802696 and authors of pages like http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_3.8 could learn from it and link to your posts in our articles. I’d say that way more people will read what you wrote, as most people want to know what a new Linux kernel version contains when it’s actually shipped (and not a few days later).
